Broken Glass

We are broken glass
needing your touch
your melting gaze
to mold us afresh

We are shards of glass
lost and scattered around
far from where we belong
needing a healing wand

This broken glass
once misused and abused
is molten and brazed
to make an honorable mug

This vessel of class
carries messages of life
a vessel of love
through which healing doth flow

so laugh now you of scorn!
kick at us as we groan
one day soon
you will really wish
you had been broken glass!

Like an Onion

Like an onion,
I will make your eyes smart
and make you go "drat!"
should you pick me apart!

Like an onion,
an aberration to sight
Reducing men of might
to shards of glass

Like an onion
I am less with each peeling
yet more potent still
power in small quantities
yet weaker still

Like an onion
Don't waste me i pray
Don't you peel me for play
For there is little of me
and you will need me one day
