18 Origins

"Eighteen years of love and laughter shared,
With you, my dear, my heart is spared.
Through life's ups and downs, you've been my light,
My partner, friend, and soulmate, side by side.

Our children bless our lives with glee,
A boy, a girl, and one more to be,
Seventeen, fifteen, and eleven years young,
Their smiles and laughter, our hearts have sung.

Your kindness, compassion, and generous heart,
Inspire me daily, a work of art.
You're the sunshine that brightens up my day,
The calm in every storm, the safe way.

I'm grateful for your love, your support, and care,
For being my rock, my partner, always there.
May we continue to endure,
the promise to love, cherish and adore,
Forever and always, more and more.

So here's to us, and our love so true,
Darlah, my love, I'm grateful for you.
You're my piranha in the Amazon, fierce and sweet,
Forever in my heart, my love, my treat." 😘❤️

18 Selah

In your eyes, where I once saw dreams,
I see memories of milestones conquered,
In the crinkles round your eyes,
I see your familiar smile,  warmth to my heart.

I lace my fingers through your long ones, feeling the callouses you now have, from fixing all around us to make me a home.

The sun glistens, reflecting the silver in your beard, as your eyes twinkle with surpressed mirth

You dance and swing our daughter across the room,
I sip at tea our boys have made,
With the all so familiar ocd,  and I count myself a blessed one.

For you have been faithful, you have been available, you have learned me like a subject, absorbed me and immersed yourself in the love of me,
Until even i want to take a second look.

Much was broken in us both, and God used the pieces to mend us while bonding us,
His healing balm the laughter in our home,
Easters with Moms and Dads and their granchildren,
Two broken homes, celebrating a wholeness only dreamt of.

Thank you for the street of Dreams,
With you I've got plenty of plans
Thanking God for the Man of my Dreams.

Chimpmunk, Spartan the many shades of you,
Thank you my love, my husband, my friend!

Parliament's Corruption

In Uganda's halls of power and might,

A corrupt crew takes flight.

With pockets fat and hearts of stone,

They line their own, leave the people alone.

They swagger in their MP robes so fine,

Accused of looting, but silence divine.

Billions stolen, diverted with ease,

Taxpayers' money, a personal tease.

The people cry, demand justice true,

But leaders turn deaf, what to do?

Impunity reigns, corruption thrives,

Uganda's future, a bleak drive.

Nude protests rise, a bold statement made,

Against corruption, young hearts not swayed.

Arrested, silenced, but the message clear,

Uganda's parliament, wipe away the tear.

Change is needed, a new dawn's light,

To oust corruption, bring back what's right.

But till then, the nation will sigh,

As corruption reigns, and hope says goodbye.

A Song of Praise

In humble adoration, we gather round,

To worship the Savior, our hearts profound.

With every breath, we'll sing Your praise,

Jesus, our Redeemer, in Heaven's gaze.

Your love, a flame that guides us through,

A beacon in darkness, shining true.

Your grace, a gift that we can't repay,

A treasure to cherish every single day.

With uplifted hands and hearts aflame,

We'll worship You, Jesus, Your Holy Name.

In Your Presence, we find our peace,

Our souls revived, our spirits release.

You are our Rock, our Savior and Friend,

Our hearts belong to You, till the very end.

We'll follow You, through joy and strife,

Jesus, our Lord, our worship, our life.

Musings

As I drove to work this morning

The sun was rising from its rest

It yawned and stretched

Illuminating the eastern sky

Ready for its day long journey from east to west.

As I drive home this evening

The sun is weary

Setting down fast

Eager to retire for a well deserved rest

Closing its eyes

And giving way to darkness to reign

The cold creeps out of its hiding

Chill envelopes the air

But it will only be for a moment

As tomorrow morning

As I drive to work

The sun will rise again

And chase away the darkness and the chill.

Night

I lie on my back
Staring into the impenetrable darkness

The stillness of the night
Enveloped by the peace of silence

Only broken by the distant chirp of a cricket

A bark of a stray dog
Momentarily interrupts
My thoughts

But the stubbornness of my thoughts are not deflected.

As I stare into the nothingness of the darkness
You keep detaining my thoughts

I wonder what you are presently doing

I wonder if I can hold your hand from a distance

I wonder how in cruel world
You maintain your smile and laughter.

As my thoughts drill deeper
I can only say

You are God's beautiful creation

Selah

The You

I lay in bed last night,
With a silly grin on my face,
Missing you and smiling at the last laugh we had.

As I faded off to sleep I couldn't wait to wake,
Be ause I knew I would find a love surprise from you.

Your gentle heart and your warm voice,
Have become my latest indulgence,
As I wander through your beautiful mind,
Holding your hand, as you weave your tales of your loves and losses.

I love the you I have heard about.... I love the you I imagined you would be....
But most of all,
I love the you that is here, now
