18 Selah

In your eyes, where I once saw dreams,
I see memories of milestones conquered,
In the crinkles round your eyes,
I see your familiar smile,  warmth to my heart.

I lace my fingers through your long ones, feeling the callouses you now have, from fixing all around us to make me a home.

The sun glistens, reflecting the silver in your beard, as your eyes twinkle with surpressed mirth

You dance and swing our daughter across the room,
I sip at tea our boys have made,
With the all so familiar ocd,  and I count myself a blessed one.

For you have been faithful, you have been available, you have learned me like a subject, absorbed me and immersed yourself in the love of me,
Until even i want to take a second look.

Much was broken in us both, and God used the pieces to mend us while bonding us,
His healing balm the laughter in our home,
Easters with Moms and Dads and their granchildren,
Two broken homes, celebrating a wholeness only dreamt of.

Thank you for the street of Dreams,
With you I've got plenty of plans
Thanking God for the Man of my Dreams.

Chimpmunk, Spartan the many shades of you,
Thank you my love, my husband, my friend!
